Basic Function

To perform complex analytics, maintenance, and reporting in support of complex information systems for the business unit to ensure governance and compliance with business processes and goals

Example Of Duties

  • Performs cross-functionally to develop solutions to integrate highly complex information systems and business process changes in support of strategic business needs
  • Plans, conducts, and takes lead or project management role on major projects; reviews and evaluates results
  • Oversees business unit data management and strategies to ensure accurate information and reporting
  • Streamlines and improves business processes
  • Supports the development, enhancement, and maintenance of an information system specific to the business unit and ensures alignment with business processes and goals
  • Provides guidance to staff on information system status, projects, and programs
  • Provides direction to other departments and consultants regarding systems needs and acceptability of alternatives
  • Writes business and reporting requirements, and uses case diagrams and functional requirements for new applications or modifications to existing applications
  • Consults with business and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure that requirements are being met
  • Monitors system performance and troubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system problems
  • Engages with other departments to resolve issues, as necessary
  • Facilitates systems training and creates technical documentation
  • Develops analytical models to extract and analyze data from various Metro systems to provide management with decision-making tools
  • Participates in department’s information security, disaster recovery, and safety programs
  • Participates in evaluation and awards of contracts to Information System vendors
  • Contributes to ensuring that the EEO policies and programs of Metro are carried out

Requirements For Employment

  • Bachelor's degree - Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field
  • 4 years' senior-level experience performing business and systems analysis, planning and implementation of information systems, and analytical reports
Preferred Qualifications

Due to the competitiveness of the recruitment, consideration may be given to those candidates who demonstrate the following additional qualifications:
  • Master's degree - Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field
  • Experience conducting end-to-end testing in an Oracle environment or similar
  • Experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Experience with Procure to Pay or similar end-to-end Supply Chain processes
  • Experience working on or configuring enterprise wide analytics applications to analyze and define data for ad-hoc and standard reports such as Business Warehouse or Business Intelligence
  • Experience utilizing enterprise-wide applications including preparation of training materials and quick reference guides

Knowledge:

  • Theories, principles, and practices of specified application areas, systems analysis, and statistical methods
  • Enterprise software implementations and upgrades, and/or support of relational systems such as Oracle
  • Interpretation/translation of analytical work results into business results
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing information systems
  • Capabilities of large-scale computer systems
  • Principles of project management
